A hunting license is required to hunt on a Shooting Preserve. Mississippi Residents will need a minimum of a Small Game Hunting License. A Non-Mississippi Resident may purchase a Non-Resident Shooting Preserve License instead of a Non-Resident Small Game Hunting License. The Non-Resident Shooting Preserve License is valid for the entire shooting preserve season on any shooting preserve in the State of Mississippi. The above licenses may be purchased at a Licensed Agency or online at www.mdwfg.com. Safety & Hunting Information: All hunters must wear "hunter orange" at all times. Hunters must adhere to their guide's instructions at all times. Hunters that have not bird hunted before must notify the hunting guide. Shotguns only. No rifles or handguns. Every hunter shall carry his/her firearm unloaded, with barrels broken or breech open until your group arrives at the designated hunting area. No hunter shall take any shot that may put fellow hunters, their guide or dogs at risk. "Let the bird go" or let someone else have the shot. All loaded firearms shall be carried only in a safe (safety on) condition at all times. Firearms may be inspected for safety. If anyone shoots, sprays or stings anyone hunting in the group including the guide, the hunt will be terminated immediately and fees are still payable. Anyone shoots a dog, they just bought the dog at the cost to replace the dog of comparable worth. All youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult.
Shot size sizing and loads: Light loads, #9 or #8 shot for quail. You can use the same for pheasant and chukar or you can use #8 or # 71/2 shot.
What to bring: Lunch Your gun, ammunition, vest, hunting orange, ice chest (for your own beverages and to bring your birds home in).
